Foster With TRUAA

Fostering saves lives. When you foster a TRUAA dog, you provide a safe, loving environment where they can decompress, learn home routines, and show their true personality. Even short-term fosters make a huge impact and help dogs get adopted faster.

 

Fosters help our dogs:

• Take a break from the kennel environment

• Gain confidence and social skills

• Learn everyday home routines

• Be better matched with their forever families

Whether you can foster for a few days, a few weeks, or longer, your support truly matters.

 

What TRUAA Provides

TRUAA covers all veterinary care and provides guidance, support, and supplies while your foster dog is in your home. We work closely with you to ensure a good match and a positive experience.

 

Doggie Day Out

Not ready to foster long-term? A Doggie Day Out might be perfect for you.

Doggie Day Out allows a TRUAA dog to leave the rescue facility for just a day or a short sleepover for a few nights. This time away helps dogs relax, enjoy a home environment, and reset emotionally — all of which helps them succeed and get adopted.

Doggie Day Out helps dogs:

• Enjoy one-on-one attention

• Relax in a home setting

• Practice everyday routines

• Get a much-needed mental break

Even one day away from the facility can make a meaningful difference.

 

Volunteer With TRUAA

Fostering isn’t the only way to help. Volunteers are the backbone of our rescue, and there are many ways to get involved.

 

Dog Care & Enrichment

Help keep our dogs comfortable, happy, and engaged while they wait for their forever homes.

• Walking dogs

• Cleaning kennels and food bowls

• Socialization and enrichment activities

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, comfortable with bending/lifting/kneeling, and have reliable transportation.

 

Fundraising & Community Outreach

Support our mission beyond the rescue grounds.

We are currently seeking volunteers for:

• Fundraising Coordinator

• Community Outreach Coordinator

 

If you have experience with marketing, social media, photography, or event planning, we’d love to hear from you.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old.

 

Grounds & Play Yard Support

Prefer to help behind the scenes? We can always use extra hands maintaining our outdoor spaces.

• Cleaning and organizing

• Yard work and light maintenance

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, able to bend/lift/kneel, and have reliable transportation.
